It’s Spring Break!

This week our legislators had an abbreviated week to spend time with their children and grandchildren out of school on spring break!

However, all bills have passed their 1st deadline for House of origin. Monday, HB3429 will be heard in the Senate.

This bill supports a sales tax holiday on ammunition sales to Oklahoma sportsmen and sportswomen. While New York and California are pushing for prohibitive taxes on ammunition, Oklahoma will be joining several other states in recognizing the importance of the second amendment and the lawful pursuit of the shooting sports.

The sales tax holiday provides for the opportunity for families to afford ammunition to teach their children about marksmanship and gun safety, how to sight-in a rifle, reinforce sound practice habits, and learn the time honored tradition of deer and other wild-game hunting.

We applaud Representative Archer for his work on HB3429 and Senator Haste’s support of it in the Senate.
