SB 1476, which provides a state sales tax exemption on firearm safety devices passed out of committee last week . This bill was authored by Senator Jo Anna Dosset, D-Tulsa, with the help of the Oklahoma Rifle Association in her interim study last fall.
HB 3429 also passed out of committee. This sales tax holiday provides for the opportunity for families to afford ammunition to teach their children about marksmanship and gun safety, how to sight-in a rifle, reinforce sound practice habits, and learn the time honored tradition of deer and other wild-game hunting.
