As NRA First Vice President, I went this past week to the Daisy Nationals to see nearly 600 youth compete with their Daisy BB guns! This is a competition that has taken place since 1966 for kids 8 to 15 years old. Daisy is committed to safety and education and has a robust training program requirement prior to entering the competition. Not only are they impressive in the marksmanship they bring to this competition, but before they can even compete, the youth are given a 50-question written exam, with those results factoring into their overall scores in the competition.
One of the highlights of my year is to visit and interact with the many participants, parents and volunteers at this wonderful event in NW Arkansas. The Daisy BB Gun Nationals make such a positive impact across the youth shooting community – thank you Daisy and thank you to all the participants… we are proud of you!
