Each year we encourage the ORA membership to join us at the State Capitol for ORA / NRA day- where these two organizations are recognized for their support and advocacy of the Second Amendment and the firearm community.
This year, National Rifle Association Vice President and Oklahoma Rifle Association President Mark Vaughan, was also recognized on the House and Senate floors.
During our time at the Capitol, the ORA recognizes individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to Oklahoma gun owners. This year we celebrated law enforcement, with five officers celebrated on the House and Senate floors, receiving citations for their invaluable service.
After our afternoon at the capitol, the ORA board hosts a special reception for our legislators, recognizing and awarding our lawmakers who especially had supported pro Second Amendment legislation, and have a chance to connect one-on-one with refreshments, conversations, and door prizes.
This is part of our work to keep Oklahoma the Second Amendment friendly state that it is, continually working with lawmakers on legislation but also advising and collaborating with the National Rifle Association on anything that impacts Oklahoma’s gun owners.
