Jim Wallace Jim Wallace, the Executive Director of the Gun Owner’s Action League of Massachusetts (GOAL) since 2005, is an avid sportsman and gun owner.Raised in Groveland, MA, Jim served our country in the United States Army from 1983 to 1986.

Before becoming Executive Director of GOAL, Jim co-founded the Massachusetts Society of Outdoor Sportsmen and was President of the Essex County League of Sportsmen. As an advocate for sportsmen in Massachusetts, Jim helped lead advocacy efforts for legislation that created a more streamlined and fair gun licensing system, protected gun clubs and shooting ranges from costly unnecessary compliance measures, and restored the Fish and Game Fund to the state budget where dollars are spent to maintain the Commonwealth’s wildlife areas.

As the Executive Director of GOAL, Jim steered important legislation protecting the rights of the Commonwealth’s sportsmen and gun owners and continues to protect their rights from being usurped by unnecessarily restrictive licensing and regulatory processes. Most recently, Jim’s work led to the passage of Chapter 284 of the Acts of 2014 in Massachusetts. This historical piece of legislation included new laws addressing mental health, National Instant Check system compliance, school safety, reforms to protect lawful gun owners and many sections aggressively going after the criminal use and trafficking of firearms. Jim has been a guest on countless media appearances locally and nationally and has become a sought after guest speaker throughout Massachusetts and national events.

Jim lives in Newburyport, MA with his wife Holly. They have one daughter, Kaitlyn, who is a graduate Bridgewater State University. He is an avid upland game and waterfowl hunter. He hunts with his four legged children, his bird dogs, named Addie (Spaniel) and Shoney (Labrador).

Jim Wallace returned to Massachusetts after serving in the United States Army in 1986 and became active in a local club called Georgetown Fish and Game Association. Within a few short years he became very involved as a volunteer political advocate through the local, county and statewide organizations. He was hired by Gun Owners’ Action League (GOAL) in December of 2000 to act as their full-time legislative agent. In 2005 he was promoted by the Board of Directors to Executive Director and still acts as GOAL’s lobbyist and public speaker. During his tenure, GOAL has been successful in reforming Massachusetts gun laws and the organization becoming a leader in modernizing the Second Amendment civil rights movement.
